OptiPlax and TheyaVue are two online-only vision supplements that disclose opposite halves of the picture. OptiPlax tells you what is in the capsule but not what it costs until checkout. TheyaVue tells you what it costs but shows its ingredient list only as an image. That difference shapes who each one suits.

Everything below comes from each product's official website, read in text form, plus general research from federal health sources. We did not test either product.

What is the main difference between OptiPlax and TheyaVue?

The main difference is transparency of a different kind. OptiPlax names five ingredients (kelp, wakame, astaxanthin, chlorella and Ecklonia cava) in a proprietary blend. TheyaVue lists exact prices for one, three and six bottles but describes its formula only as "24 antioxidants" in text.

Which one has the better-studied ingredients?

Neither OptiPlax nor TheyaVue can be shown to match the AREDS2 formula from the text of its page. The nutrients with the most evidence for the macula are lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamins C and E, zinc and copper, as described by the National Eye Institute. OptiPlax names none of them. TheyaVue's reference list discusses lutein and zeaxanthin, but its label is not readable in text, so we cannot say whether they are in the bottle or at what dose.

Astaxanthin, the best-known OptiPlax ingredient, has some small studies on screen-related eye fatigue, but the evidence is thin. Learn more in our lutein and zeaxanthin guide.

Which one costs less?

TheyaVue is the only one of the two with verifiable prices: $59 for one bottle down to $39 per bottle in a six-pack. OptiPlax prices are not in its page text, so a fair cost comparison has to happen at the two checkouts. Do compare on cost per day, not per bottle, since both bottles are sold as month-long supplies.

Which is easier to take?

OptiPlax is easier: one capsule a day, with no timing rule. TheyaVue asks for two capsules a day, each 20 to 30 minutes before a meal. If you often skip lunch or forget pills, the single daily dose matters.

Which has the friendlier refund terms?

Both offer 60 days. TheyaVue spells out more of the process: empty bottles are accepted and refunds are issued within 48 hours of the return arriving. OptiPlax requires all bottles plus the packing slip. Neither page says return postage is covered.

Who should not take OptiPlax or TheyaVue?

Some people should check with a doctor before either. Pregnant or nursing women, anyone under 18, people on prescription drugs and anyone with a diagnosed eye disease should get advice first. OptiPlax's seaweeds supply iodine, which matters for people with thyroid conditions, according to the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements. TheyaVue's label should be checked for beta-carotene by smokers and former smokers.

What should you ask before ordering either one?

Three questions save money with either product. Ask for the full Supplement Facts label with amounts. Ask whether return shipping is refunded. Ask how long delivery takes to your state. A vendor that answers clearly is a better bet than one that only repeats the sales pitch.

It is also worth thinking about what you hope to change. If the issue is tired eyes after long screen days, the habits in our screen eye strain guide cost nothing and have better support than any capsule. If the issue is blurry distance or reading vision, the usual cause is a change in prescription, which glasses or contacts address directly. If the goal is long-term macular health, the AREDS2 nutrients are the benchmark to compare against.

Do OptiPlax and TheyaVue ship to the same places?

Both ship within the United States. OptiPlax lists Canada, the UK and Ireland, and Australia and New Zealand at $15.95 with 10-15 working days. TheyaVue's page text covers US shipping only, with 5-7 business days after dispatch. Readers outside the US should check the checkout page before ordering either.

Can you take OptiPlax and TheyaVue together?

We would not combine them. Stacking two blends with undisclosed doses makes it impossible to know your total intake of any nutrient, and it doubles the cost. Pick one, use it for the guarantee period, and decide based on how you feel and what your eye doctor says at your next exam.
